So, I haven't really updated in far too long. My apologies, now get over it. While I can't say that this update will have any funny videos or interesting articles, that's what the others have been for.

The past couple of days have been spent literally in the shadow of some very big, life changing type decisions. I've applied to teach English in Japan and applied to law school at Cleveland State. Between the two, I'd like to teach in Japan. I find out if I'm accepted for the program towards the end of next week.

If that wasn't pressure enough, on Thursday of next week the NCAA announces who is going to go to nationals. I'm in a pretty safe position (like 13th in my 100 back), but a lot of my teammates are worried. It seems as if the meet has gotten a lot faster since I came in as a freshman.

Also, it looks like I'll have a lot of work coming up. Not that that matters much, since I always do manage to squeak by, but it's something to think about.

I highly recommend these bands: Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, and The Talking Heads

Found this last night, as I was writing a paper. I would just like to applaud science for 'solving' the mystery of love.

Does anyone else think that there are questions which we know we don't want the answer to ahead of time, yet still insist upon asking?

I never thought that I'd actually live to see the birth of the Borg. Man, I can't wait to be assimilated!

It's been a bit of a time for me and this blog, but, such is life. Since the last update there have been many a good thing abound; I am most likely a 4 event NCAA qualifier after having had the swim meet of my life this past weekend, I'm doing a ton of reading, though most of it is for class, and Jes came by for the past weekend. All pluses.

I have heard rumor that the first weekend of March two of Denison's finest may return to campus. Pray for my soul and for my liver.

Other than all that, life is good. The only drawback has been the sheer ammount of work that these 3 stinking classes have given me. I'm literally reading one Jane Austen book per week, plus all this jurisprudence reading and a ton of literary crit. theory. All fun stuff, but again, tons of material. Books on tape may be approperiate soon.

One of the nicest things in recent memory was to see all of the swimming alumni that congradulated myself and my teammates. The Richners, Nick Chester, Tom Masters, Ed, Nate, Trent, J.P. and everyone else that showed up to NCAC's or wrote made the past week that much more enjoyable. Thanks guys.

That's all I have really, except this one poingent quote:

Henry Rollins is no more a threat to established power in America than was Dale Carnegie - Thomas Frank

Sad, but true. R.I.P. the meaningful counterculture, sadly you have been assimilated by capitalism

Some people just go too far with being a geek. I mean, come on, it's cool and all, but that is just weird.

I would like to thank Owen for advance warning. The end is near.

Really though, what is happening to the U.S.? I mean, this used to be the land of the free and home of the brave. Now we're more like the land of the willingly repressed and home of the acquiescent. I really can't believe this shit. At one time there were people who thought so highly of freedom of expression and ideas that they killed and were killed for it. Now great ideas like that are just put to a committe.

Merely sentiment:

Home... is where I want to be,
But I guess I'm already there.
I come home... she lifted up her wings
Guess that this must be the place.

I can't tell one from another
Did I find you, or you find me?
There was a time before we were born
If someone asks, this where I'll be . . . where I'll be

I would now like to thank Ohio for 2 things in particular:

1 - Shitty weather
Just putting up with this ridiculousness has made me tougher.

2 - Denison's chapter of Delta Gamma
Hey, what can I say? They came over the other night and were pleasant to have around. It's good to know that not everyone my age is vulgar.

This was a little love message from my buddy, Ryan:

Man, Ryan is a funny guy.
